Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.
Toronto's Blue Jays reached their initial World Series following 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive seventh game of the AL Championship Series.
Down three runs to one, the star outfielder smashed a three-run blast in the seventh, leading the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 win in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Dodgers, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated championship.
"I'm thrilled for our team, the city, the nation," Springer stated, an integral part of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 title. "This is such an incredible feeling."
Springer has now connected for 23 playoff homers, placing him third in history after Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).
"It's hard to imagine another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that spot other than Springer with his post-season brilliance," said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.
Seattle, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, remain the one club never to appear in a World Series.
Manager Dan Wilson said "without a doubt that it's painful" after his team's loss at Rogers Centre, but praised their work throughout the year.
"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the wrong side of the series," he added.
The Blue Jays secured the World Series on both previous visits in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
