Red Bull Confirms Substantial 2026 Driver Line-Up: Hadjar Steps Up, Teenager Lindblad Gets Grand Prix Debut.

Red Bull has announced a new line-up for the 2026 Formula 1 season, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its A-team and handing British teenager Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive.

The young driver, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit VCARB.

This reshuffling sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid post a half-decade in F1.

A Star in the Making

Lindblad has been marked out as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Regarding the company's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "appears very talented", highlighting his "natural quickness".

The team has had a plan since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely Grand Prix bow in 2026, including runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.

The rookie said it was a "proud moment", commenting: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started."

Lindblad has taken two races in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings heading into the final round in Abu Dhabi.

The Frenchman's Chance

Hadjar's F1 career began in difficult fashion when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers this season.

He included an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the drivers' standings.

The team principal commented: "Hadjar has shown great maturity and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max."

The promoted driver called it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "up for the challenge".

The Lawson Decision

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was demoted after just two races. He has found his form at Racing Bulls with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits another season.

The Japanese driver, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has scored a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements mean that there is also no place on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 next season.
