Recent details have emerged regarding the shocking passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence residence on Sunday.
As detailed in an account citing a family associate, a practitioner arriving for an session first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the home. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently detained and is ineligible for bail.
The person close to the family questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Furthermore refuted circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction applies to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.
As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for some hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
