Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities report that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.

The Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:

• 15 counts of sexual assault.
• Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
• 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
• 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
• One count of attempted penetrative assault.
