We start with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, that chairs the committee.

She initiates by offering background to the disclosed memo authored by Michael Prescott and published in a daily publication.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, fair and just," he says.

In response to a query if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, he responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the BBC produces is world class - encompassing informative and entertainment shows."

But he adds: "There remains substantial tasks that needs to be done at the BBC."

A further previous consultant BBC adviser interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, says she takes the BBC with great importance and that it operates a "ongoing system and lively discussion" across evolving and intricate subjects.

"Was the BBC willing to engage in a proper discussion and argument and implement changes?" she questions. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
